How your files stay private

Most of our tools never see your files at all: they run inside your browser. Here is exactly what happens with each kind of tool, and how you can check it yourself.

Converters, PDF tools, QR codes and the assistant: on your device

When you open one of these tools, your browser downloads the tool itself (for example the video and audio converters, or the PDF tools). Your file is then read from your own device, changed in your browser's memory and saved straight back to your device. It is never uploaded to our servers or to anyone else. The same is true when the assistant compresses, merges or converts a file for you.

Downloading from a link: passed through, not kept

To save a video or a song from a link, our server asks that site for the file and passes it on to you. The file exists on our server only while it is being prepared and sent, and is deleted within minutes. We do not keep a list of the links you paste. Your IP address is held in memory for at most an hour to stop abuse, and is never written to disk.

Files shared from your phone

When you share a file to Anubis Tools from your phone's share menu, it is kept in this site's own storage on your phone until the tool you pick opens it, and then removed. Nothing is sent anywhere on the way.

What we count

We count numbers only: how many downloads per day, per country and per site, and which tool finished a job. We never record file names, file contents or the links you use.

The site shows ads to stay free. Ad networks see the page you are on, as on any site with ads, but we never give them your files or your links, and their ads are kept away from the tool you are using.

Check it yourself

Convert or edit one file first, so the tool is loaded in your browser. Then turn off your Wi-Fi or mobile data and do another one: it still works, because your file never had to leave your device. In a desktop browser you can also open the developer tools (Network tab) while you convert a file and see that it is not sent anywhere.
